The Budapest History Museum, a national museum and one of the largest museum organisations in Hungary, launched its sponsorship scheme in December 2017. Our aim is to build a museum community whose members can come into closer contact with the institution and whose support helps the museum to improve the quality of its increasingly modern operations, strengthen its social ties and ensure the worthy preservation and expansion of its collections. The Budapest History Museum has extensive European connections and has organised exhibitions in several foreign cities: Vienna, Florence, Krakow, Bratislava and Zagreb.

Our museum not only offers discounts to its patrons, but also wants to ensure that BTM patrons can be a real part of the museum’s life, learn about its exhibition plans, meet the academic researchers, archaeologists, art historians, historians, conservators and contemporary artists who work here, and get an insight into the museum’s workshop secrets. For this reason, we organise exclusive events, private artist and curator guided tours, storage and workshop visits exclusively for our supporters.

Travel in Time!

The uniqueness of the BTM lies in the fact that visitors can explore the entire history of our capital from its beginnings to the present day by visiting its member institutions – the Castle Museum, the Kiscelli Museum, the Aquincum Museum, the Budapest/New Budapest Gallery and the Béla Bartók Memorial House.

Visiting our museums, you can immerse yourself in the culture and lifestyle of an earlier age, taste the flavours of the time, dance to old music, and take part in Roman feasts and King Matthias’ celebrations, such as the Saturnalia or Floralia at the Aquincum Museum or the Renaissance dinner in the Gothic Hall of the Castle Museum.

We strive to build a lively relationship with both individuals and the business world. Our aim is to bring together cultural life and the business world in a mutually beneficial partnership. It is important for us to understand each other’s communication and support objectives and to present our partners in a diverse way that best suits them.

Medium sponsorship package – 60.000 HUF:

  • regular information in the form of an electronic newsletter
  • 2 annual passes to the 4 member institutions (free unlimited admission to our temporary and permanent exhibitions)
  • exclusive curatorial and art guided tours in connection with our temporary exhibitions (3 times/year)
  • online invitation to the openings

200.000 HUF

  • Guided tours in foreign languages for foreign partners of companies in the Royal Palace and the Castle District of Buda – 2 times/year
  • Sponsor nominations (on request) on the BTM interfaces (by arrangement)

500.000 HUF

  • 4 annual passes to 4 member institutions (free unlimited admission to our temporary and permanent exhibitions)

1.500.000 HUF

  • Renaissance dinner in the Gothic Hall of the Castle Museum for max. 25 people (above this number, prior arrangement required) – period food, lute music, dressing up in period costumes, dance lessons, dance performance
  • “Mobilise your creative resources!” – creative workshop for supporters only (min. 5 people)
  • 4 annual passes to 4 member institutions (free unlimited admission to our temporary and permanent exhibitions)
  • 4 family tickets to the following events of the Aquincum Museum, one or two: Floralia, Saturnalia, Summer Theatre
  • guided tours in foreign languages for their foreign partners in the Royal Palace and the Castle District of Buda Castle / 2 times a year
