During sewage system installation works in Budapest, District III, at Kőpor Lane (parcel no. 22286), we carried out an archaeological observation between August 7 and September 9, 2020. The work extended for approximately 190 meters from the Jutas Street intersection towards Kőpor Street, involving 60 cm-wide trenches with domestic connections reaching a depth of 180 cm. At the boundary between the humus layer and the yellow clay layer, along Óarany Street, and later near the intersection of Kolta Street and Kőpor Alley, in front of Kolta Street No. 11, we found fragments of Roman-period yellow domestic pottery. These are likely related to the remains of the villa estate discovered on Kolta Street during the 2014 sewage system project (Budai Balogh 2015). Apart from the pottery fragments, which were found as stray finds within the layer, no archaeological features were identified in the given trench section.
