From 1 November 2021, wearing a mask that covers the nose to under the chin is mandatory in public institutions including our museums.

On 1 November, all of our member institutions - the Aquincum Museum and Archaeological Park, the Budapest Gallery, the Castle Museum as well as the Kiscell Museum - Municipal Gallery - are closed. From 2 November, visitors are welcome in the usual opening hours.

A total of 36 Hungarian and foreign entries were received by the deadline of 15 October 2021 for the international call for entries for the Memorial of Rape in Wartimes, launched by the Municipality of Budapest in July 2021.

Entrance to all of Budapest History Museum's member institutions is free on 23rd October.

The exhibition 'Ostapenko, Should It Stay or Should It Go? The Politics of Removing Monuments from Public Spaces between 1990 and 1993' provides an overview of the sculpture relocations ordered by the Municipality of Budapest and organised by the Budapest Gallery after the regime change, with the help of contemporary photo documentation.

For many years, the Design Without Borders (DWB) exhibition has been the defining forum of the Hungarian design scene. This year, alongside works by more than 150 creators from 16 countries, the latest in Slovenian design will be on show in Budapest for two months under the title Made in Slovenia - The Future of Living.

Our museums are joining the Autumn Museum Festival with a wide range of exciting events including unique guided tours, family days, city history walks and concerts among many others.

On 26 September, 'Birth' by Tamás Péli will be on display for the last time at the Budapest History Museum. The final event is a farewell before the departure: we have been with Péli's work for a scant four months, and after the finale it will be going on an unknown journey.

We are awaiting visitors with a wide range of interesting programs on the first weekend of September, including the closing event for the exhibition 'Mounted Archers from Budapest's Past', and a 'birthday celebration' of the Kiscell Museum as well as the two-day-long Roman Festival at the Aquincum Museum.

On 20 August 2021, after nearly two years of closure, our original main entrance in the Lions' Courtyard will reopen. The Bronze Gate, used during the construction as a temporary entrance, will now serve as the museum's service entrance.
